Ciao Italia
We needed a getaway, but we did not want to deal with the hustle of going through an airport. We opted for a destination where we could reach by car. Enter Lake Las Vegas, The Village. We arrived early. We got to our room early. It was just in time for a nap, a refreshing nap. Since we brought enough pastries from the bakery in Chinatown, we opted not to order room service nor change and go to the restaurant. That was how we spent the first day. Nap, simple dinner, a chat on the balcony.
The next day, I took my camera again and went to the village. The place was just the way I wanted, quiet. As usual, when looking for scenes to take picture of, I followed the light. The theme was Italy, and that was what I got. In fact, when I posted a picture on Facebook, someone asked, “You are in Italy?” With a monochrome camera, all I looked for was light and shadow. The rowing boat. The lamp in the gazebo. There was a bird on a rope by the dock, my iphone caught it.
We love our routines. We also need a getaway from the routine to freshen up. This simple overnight stay served that purpose.
